EEAST confirmed as provider for Non-Urgent Patient Transport

Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire CCGs have agreed a new contract with East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) to deliver non-emergency public transport.

The contract, which will run for 3 years commenced on 1 Jan 2018 and will bring assurance to patients, following the closure of Private Ambulance Service (PAS), the previous provider in October.

Since the closure of PAS, EEAST has been delivering services under an emergency contract and are now working to fully mobilise the new substantive contract.

The service provides 365,000 journeys to treatment centres each year across the four CCGs and is a lifeline for patients that have regular appointments for treatment such as dialysis, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
