Local CCG chosen as a finalist for GO award

10 April 2018

News graphicWe are delighted to announce that Luton Clinical Commissioning Group (LCCG) have been chosen as finalists in partnership with
Attain& Herts Urgent Care in the 2018 National GO Procurement Innovation awards, for the category; Initiative of the Year Award
for Health and Social Care Organisations.

The awards acknowledge LCCG’s Unplanned Care Team’s excellent use of resources to improve pathways for patients who need Urgent Care in Luton. This work links closely to the improvements that have been made in Integrated Urgent Care, the Urgent Treatment Centre and the introduction of directly bookable appointments by NHS111 operatives and local GP surgeries.

These initiatives have introduced faster more efficient assessments, they ensure that patients receive the right care in the right place, and they improve outcomes for patients.

Commenting on being nominated as a finalist Caroline Capell, Assistant Director of Unplanned Care for LCCG, said: “We have often faced challenges with supporting patients to navigate the urgent care system in Luton. These new pathways ensure patients have a single point of access to urgent care and receive the right care when they need it.”

The service and support offered by Attain and Herts Urgent Care has been excellent and together we have helped local clinicians to provide a fast, effective pathway for patients”.

Winners will be announced on 24 April 2018, Hilton Deansgate Hotel, Manchester.
